It would be good to have a README.md file in the project root as shortly there will be a Git mirror of git://bbpress.git.wordpress.org/ at ​https://github.com/bbPress/bbPress and it looks a little bare without this file on GitHub

Uploading the previous file I had on my mirror, it's out of date, but has some info we may want to copy over before I delete my mirror
