Unable to change email address in forum profile

Description
It looks like it is currently not possible to update your email address from your forum profile.
The email field exists, and you can edit the contents, but clicking "Update profile" does not update it.

This is working on bbPress.org, but not on my local, which is running WordPress 5.4.
