Description
Issue reported is for bbPress 2.4, using the default Twenty Eleven theme.
Steps:
- Installed bbPress Plugin.
- Created new forum.
- Created new forum topic via the WordPress admin and assigned to the forum in step 2.
When viewing the main forum list on the front end, the new topic (created via the admin) isn't accounted for. A zero post count is displayed.
However, if you click on the forum name to go to the topics, the new topic is visible in the list.

Did you test on a clean install of WP and bbPress? It might only be an issue on a clean install.
Also, I am developing locally, not on a live server.

Yes, I tested on a clean install, I'll do a couple more tests later.
Can you flush your permalink settings and run the repair tools.
Does the issue still occur after running the above?
Moving to 2.4.1 to investigate.
