Description

Will be nice if we can have widget that let user post to forum from anywhere on blog, this widget must show with drop down combo box where we can chose the forum where topic will be added.

Also, on "bbPress Reply List" widget, link post to something like (forums/reply/reply-to-topic) (forums/reply/reply-to-topic-2) with blank page ...

This link must go to last permalink link on topic page (link on # on topic) with link like (forums/topic/mytopic/#reply-12)

edit : also, (forums/reply/reply-to-topic) and (forums/topic/mytopic/#reply-12) will be duplicate content (not good on Google and search engine), need Canonical URL meta here.

Totally disagree that this should be in core, better handled by a plugin IMO.

if we want to hope that bbpress plugin competes other "big" forum software like vbulletin or phpbb, we have to make something revolutionary and options that we can not find anywhere else... and this widget may be favorable in the sense

  • Milestone changed from Plugin to Plugin - Future Release

Moving to future release.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Type changed from task to enhancement

No traction on this in a year, so closing as wontfix. It's easy enough to widgetize this, if/when we want to later.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
