Not having a dropdown selector for the parent forum is much more difficult to work with.

this is running bbPress 2.2(r4276) and is an import using the converter from vbulletin if that matters

By design for 2.2. Fixes the issue of the dropdowns having so many items that the page won't load. See: #1901.

maybe to use dropdown with recent forums? max 10 or 20...
